I don’t get how this is a $5,000 car given it needs a wheel bearing, front brakes and transmission service. I also realized the malaise era continued well into the 21st century.
Needs some love, have a list from local mechanic
3rd row seating
Back up camera
Averaged 23mpg
Pet free-smoking free
Definitely not kid free sorry
Will have winter and Summer tires
Air filter replaced
Everything in rear Cargo holder will come with the car!
MORE PICTURES SOON TO COME
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

They want FIVE FUCKING THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR A $2,000 car.

But hey, the air filter was done. Some more pictures should cure the rest of that mechanic’s list. Hope they said OBO

The Journey, for whatever reason, holds its value in the used market. $5000 for this one seems on -par, especially since you KNOW what needs to be done already, most of which can be done at home for cheap.
I give it an NP.

I would be hard pressed to pay more that $1500. That is what I got my 04 A6 Avant for. Yes it needs work and was worth that much. But then add Dodge van thing.... no thanks

It’s not even a cool R/T!

I was amazed they provided the inspection sheet. I have no comment on the value of a 10 year old abused FCA car/van thingy.

...or SRT Caliber?

Low oil level. Yeah, I’m not even looking at a car that the owner couldn’t give any care to the engine’s lifeblood. Hard pass even at $1000.

Who carries 10 quarts of oil with them these days ?

I would like to know what mystery items come in the cargo holder.

I carried about 7 quarts of oil with me on my cross country drive in the Miata that lost approximately 1 quart per 1k miles. I drove 4k miles and still had 3 quarts remaining when I made it to my destination. Can’t hurt to have some extra!

Damn, w hat gen Miata?

No trans service in 124k........then people wonder why Mopars have trans issues......
![]() 06/27/2019 at 16:13 |
|
Likewise, I’d run away from that very quickly given the fact that it’s never had a trans service, indicated by the discolored fluid.
![]() 06/27/2019 at 16:14 |

Then people wonder why Mopars tend to have worse reliability than other brands.......

The finger in front of the license plate thing creeps me out so much! I hate it! I can’t even properly explain why, but it just makes me very uncomfortable. Haha.

The mechanic said “recommends replacement” I’m assuming that’s the transmission.

I have a subaru! But I only carry 1 qt. It burns about 1 qt per 3000-3500 miles.

I had terrible cars when I was young. Bought what I could afford. From a young age, I’d open the hood at every fill-up and check all the fluids. I’d also give the engine a once over. I still do it to this day. People look at me funny when I pop the hood on the Prius at the gas pump. I’ve probably checked the oil on that car almost 500 times.
Also, I see the J ourney as the cheapest 3 row SUV with big rebates on the hood, low prices, finance anyone, etc. Those people don't care to care for their machine.

There’s nothing you can list that can’t be sold.
There’s nothing that’s new that can’t look old.
There’s nothing you can say, but you can post it t o CL in time.
It’s easy.
All it needs is love.
NO LOWBALLERS
All it needs is love
I KNOW WHAT I HAVE
All it needs is love, love. Love it all it needs.

I’m betting at least 2 cups of loose goldfish, a sprinkling of Cheerios, a partial pack of diaper wipes, and assorted mismatched LEGO pieces. Your basic mommy-mobile trail mix.
If you’re lucky they’ll toss in a container of whatever various fluids the car is leaking/burning.

NB with 200k on it. That is currently broken due to rod knock. Likely oil related if I had to guess? Coincidence? I doubt it!

replacement fluids or used?
Also, no french fries?

That would be funky.

If you’re lucky you can have both new and used.
Clearly missing French fries was a horrible oversight on my part. I’m sure they’ll include those as well.

In it’s defense, most mechanics will recommend replacement when a simple fluid/filter change will easily cure the issue.
I’ve bought enough Mopars with “bad” transmissions to know better. 8 times outta 10, I get it home, change the fluid/filter, and everything is working great again. 1 time outta 10, it ends up needing a solenoid pack as well, because it gunked up thanks to............NOT SERVICING THE TRANS. The other 1 outta 10, the trans is actually shot, again thanks to.........NOT SERVICING THE TRANS.
If the fluid in this thing is discolored, it’s never been changed. When they get changed at proper intervals (15-30k, use dependant) , the fluid does not discolor, hell even at 2-3x the proper interval it still usually looks new.

Those people don’t care to care for their machine.
Those people are generally the ones buying Mopars........
I was always taught to check fluids at every fill up, regardless of what vehicle I’m driving, a long with checking tire pressure, cleaning windows, etc. Simple things like that can keep you from getting a big surprise down the road.
